In Greek mythology, Ariadne was indeed the daughter of King Minos. She played a significant role in the story of Theseus and the Minotaur. Ariadne fell in love with the hero Theseus and helped him by giving him a ball of thread that he could use to navigate the labyrinth and defeat the Minotaur. This act of aid and love led to her elopement with Theseus. However, after their escape, Theseus abandoned Ariadne on the island of Naxos. Nonetheless, Ariadne went on to marry the god Dionysus, becoming the goddess of passion and fertility.
